Wildlife in Alaska

Wildlife in Alaska

Now, the wildlife does take some getting used to. You just have to realize that they are here and take precautions.
When was the last time that you had a moose stick her head in your kitchen window...

(This pic was actually taken of a cow moose sticking her head into OUR Kitchen window)

or a bear come to your campsite? Or, had to remain someplace longer than you would like, but are unable to leave because of the 2 bull moose fighting over territory? A couple summers ago there was even a picture in the newspaper showing a cow moose cooling off in a child's small swimming pool.

Of course there are conflicting opinions about whether or not the wildlife should be contained and kept from walking the streets of the city... if that would even possible. But, I'd have to say that, the wildlife roaming free was one of the many things that attracted me to the area.
