HeartBeat Alaska is an award winning Alaska Native, Native American, News and information Television program.

A short description (taken from HeartBeat Alaska with permission from the editor/designer of the page, Mark at Alaska and Compu Doc):

Heartbeat Alaska is a 30-minute program that features news, home videos of village events and life, hard-hitting features, music and interviews. The core of the program's popular appeal is it's honest representation of contemporary Native American life. Viewer-sent videos not only give Native people a voice in how they are portrayed, but also allows them to choose what is important to portray. Jeanie Greene encourages viewers from villages and reservations, from cities and towns, to send their videos to Heartbeat Alaska and share their lives and events with others. In addition to viewer-sent video, she now employs Native correspondents throughout the United States.
Jeanie Greene, an Inupiat (Northern Eskimo), is the host, reporter and producer of Heartbeat Alaska, the first Native owned, produced and staffed weekly news program ever offered nationwide in the history of American Television. The program began with a strong following in rural "bush" Alaska and its popularity spread throughout the far north. Since the beginning in October 1992, Jeanie Greene has done the impossible. She has syndicated Heartbeat Alaska nationally and internationally. She started out by cleaning out her apartment and setting up a studio there with used equipment. Yet, she has never missed a deadline, producing weekly programs, working seven days a week. Many of these she edited single handed, including the camera work. Now Heartbeat Alaska is aired over Television Northern Canada, Greenland, Russia, Alaska and the Lower 48. Beginning February 1996, the Outdoor Channel chose Heartbeat Alaska as part of their regular programming Heartbeat Alaska has won numerous awards, nationally and internationally. Jeanie Greene has been featured in national magazines such as "People Magazine" and the subject of documentaries and news stories. Heartbeat Alaska has become the voice for all Native Americans, airing in all 50 states.
